The Best Vibration Plates for Home Use

What the heck is a vibration plate?  And why the heck would I want to use one?

Well, for a complete explanation of why a vibration plate (aka power plate) check out this recent article.  But if you don’t feel like clicking over.  Here is the cliff notes version for you.

A vibration plate can help you to strengthen your muscles and lose weight.  A vibration plate can strengthen the density of your bones, improve blood flow, get your lymph system moving, and even improve the health of your immune system.   Not to mention improving your balance and posture as you brace your body through the jiggles and gyrations.

Not all Power Plates are necessarily created equal, but all of them will have differing speeds, power, and settings for when you step on the platform.  Some have bars to help you better stabilize your body, and most also come with resistance bands to add some additional dimensions to your workout once you get the hang of balancing through the vibrations.

So which one is the best one for you?  That’s why we are here.  Below, you’ll find a rundown of a number of my favorite options, from bare bones to the ones with all the bells and whistles.  Take a look, and let’s see if we can find you just the right fit at your preferred price point.  As usual (at least for now), I will link you to Amazon for additional information and potential purchases.   I’m an Amazon Affiliate, so I could earn a commission if you buy one.  But of course, please feel free to shop around.

Best Vibration Plates

1: LifePro Waver Vibration Plate Exercise Machine

LifePro Waver Power Plate Exercise Machine is our top pick for the best vibration plates for home use. With this option, you will find a strong vibration on a very stable, rubberized, anti-slip surface and at a very reasonable price.

The LifePro Waver Power Plate comes with a remote control that allows you to make adjustments to control both the power and duration of your experience.  It is sturdy but not too heavy at just 31 lbs.  so you can move it from room to room without the help of an additional set of hands in most cases.

Pros and Cons

  • Simple to use right out of the box
  • Inexpensive price point
  • Power bands come included
  • Power setting from 1-99 allows for a variety of vibration experience
  • A shorter power connector means you’ll need to position the unit properly at home

2: AXV Vibration Plate Exercise Machine

The AXV Exercise Machine is a second option to consider for your at-home vibration plate use.  This slightly smaller and lighter unit makes it easy to move around but no less sturdy when it comes to standing on a durable platform.   The magnet massage setting and the Bluetooth speakers are a couple of additional features that might end up making this vibration plate the right one for you.

With a lifetime warranty, you’ll be able to get your blood pumping and fat dropping for the long haul. While not quite as substantial as the Life Pro Waver, the AXV Vibration Plate is absolutely worth your consideration for a home-use power plate.

Pros and Cons

  • Easy to operate
  • Multiple speeds for a variety of workouts
  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • Multiple training options
  • It is a little bit noisy in comparison to some of the others

3: Lifepro Vibration Plate Exercise Machine with Waist-Level Handlebar

For some additional safety without compromising on balance, you may want to consider the Lifepro Vibration Plate Exercise Machine with Waist-Level Handlebar.  As an added bonus, the handlebar should give you the additional freedom of doing some extra upper body work while you hold onto the handlebar with the other hand.

This could be a great option to consider for older individuals or people who might be nervous about getting the hang of finding the necessary balance that comes with standing on a vibration plate.  Even with the additional handlebar, the price point for this option comes in right around other favorite options.

Pros and Cons

  • A great option for beginners and seniors
  • The waist-high handlebars and arm resistance bands are adjustable.
  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • It uses gentle waves to make the whole body stronger and more flexible
  • Reasonable price point

4: LifePro Rumblex 4D Vibration Plate Exercise Machine

LifePro Rumblex 4D Exercise Machine is another great option for a vibration plate at home. This one has some real power behind it.  Additionally, it offers a little bit more compared to the more entry-level models in that it allows you to choose or program your workouts.

This one rocks, pulses, and oscillates, moving you in 4D instead of just 3D.  You can also choose to vary your workout by combining the various movement options.

An excellent option for your home gym, garage, or even your office (that is where I keep mine). If you have the budget for it, this is a clear upgrade from the previously mentioned options.

Pros and Cons

  • Multiple types of vibrations and settings allow for a wide variety of workouts
  • The wearable remote is easy to use
  • Very well designed and top quality
  • The non-slip rubber design and stabilizing force keep you in place while you work out.
  • Not a friendly on the budget

5: Lifepro Rhythm Vibration Plate Exercise Machine with Handles

The LifePro Rhythm Vibration Plate Machine is a slightly more gentle option than some of the others we are reviewing.  That, plus the higher handles, makes this an excellent option for older users and those who might not have as much confidence in their balance.

The built-in heart rate tracker is another excellent feature for gauging where you are in your workout.

The LifePro Rythm gives you a little bit more of a gym or health club experience with the six-button screen right in front of you while you are using the machine.  Additionally, this one is a little bit bigger, a bonus if you have the floor space for it, but a little bit tricky if you do not.

Pros and Cons

  • It has 99 different settings for oscillating vibration.
  • It has an easy-to-use monitor that can track heart rate.
  • When you stand on the vibration plate, its handles give you full support.
  • The size makes it more difficult to move around and requires more space

6: LifePro Rumblex 4D Pro Vibration Plate

The Rumblex 4D vibration plate may be the most feature-packed machine on the market. It has the same oscillating motion as other plates on the market. But, it goes straight forward and backward when it vibrates. The term “4D” refers to the mixture of all those parallel motions.

Possibly the quietest machine on the market, but don’t mistake that lack of noise for a weak motor.  This one still packs a real punch.

Many different brands and straps give you and the LifePro Rumblex 4D a ton of different options when it comes to planning your workout.  Couple that with the guided training programs offered in the Angel program, and you’ll know what to do from beginner all the way up to the most experienced.

Pros and Cons

  • It includes sixty adjustable speeds, seven training modes, and three program options.
  • It comes with many extras like resistance bands, nylon hand straps, etc.
  • A very quiet option
  • Operates in 4D to help your body move in all different directions
  • Not as budget-friendly.

7: EILISON FITABS 3D Vibration Plate Exercise Machine

The EILISON 3D Vibration Plate Exercise Machine is an incredibly powerful device. But what might be the most unique thing about this option, the first we are sharing with you made by Elison Fitlabs, is the padded seat that comes along with it, providing you with a wide variety of new options both for exercise and for those who either want or need to be seated but still want the benefits that come from using a vibration plate.

Three quiet motors help the Elison to be perhaps the most silent option on the market.  It comes highly rated with all of the other popular additions like straps and bands, as well as Bluetooth speakers for your listening enjoyment while you use.

Pros and Cons

  • Removable, padded seat
  • Built-in Bluetooth speakers
  • Extremely quiet
  • It has 99 changeable vibration speeds
  • Simple to use
  • A small screen makes the controls a little more difficult to see

8: ROTAI 3D Vibration Plate with Heat

The ROTAI 3D Vibration Plate has a feature not seen in the other models we’ve looked at today.  This one has a heat setting that can go towards getting things warmed up extra quickly.   The heat option here will help to get the blood flowing all the more quickly, and if we are to believe that the blood flow is one of the benefits we are looking for in a power plate, then this certainly is an added bonus.

Slightly smaller than other plates,  the advantage here is that the ROTAI can go where you go.  So portable, in fact, you could slide it under your desk and use it while seated.

Pros and Cons

  • One of a kind with the benefits of heat therapy.
  • Extremely portable
  • There are 30 speed settings available for this machine.
  • Possibly slightly louder than other models
  • With a weight limit of 220lbs., some heavier users might not be able to enjoy it.

Top Recommendations for The Best Vibration Plates

As you can see, LifePro tends to be the biggest player in the Vibration Plate market.  For the money, you really can’t beat the LifePro Waver.  For a more basic option, this comes with all the necessary extras along with a lifetime warranty.  I personally own this model and get a lot of use out of it.

In order to keep all our readers in mind, our second top recommendation goes to the LifePro Vibration Plate Exercise Machine with a handlebar.  The handlebar offers additional stability to those who want to enjoy a power plate but still need help keeping their balance.  Each is fantastic for home use.

How We Picked These Vibration Plates

As you know from our previous article on the benefits of vibration plates. I’m a big fan of these devices.  Our top picks here were truly crowd-sourced by reading reviews on Amazon and the internet at large.  What better way to learn if something is helpful than by getting it from the horse’s mouth?

Where to Buy These Power Plates

All the links here are to Amazon, as it is a universally trusted retailer. Still, I absolutely encourage you to shop around with other retail outlets and/or the manufacturer’s websites to find the deal that you are most comfortable with.

How do I use a vibration plate exercise machine?

The most simple way to use a power plate or vibration plate is to step on, turn it on, and let it do the work for you.  As you advance, as long as you maintain your balance, you can do any number of body weight exercises or put to use the bands and straps that come along with the machines.  Each machine profiled here comes with not only an instruction book but also a “workout” book to give you ideas on how to put it to best use.

Do vibration plate machines really work?

In short.  Yes.  A vibration plate is excellent for strengthening bones and tendons.  Encouraging the flow of blood and lymph through the body.  And basically, challenges your muscular system while you stand there and allow it to do the work.

Who shouldn't use power plates?

As with any new activity, check with your doctor.  Those with a history of heart problems, blood pressure issues, and/or stroke should be especially careful before beginning a new routine with a vibration plate.

Should I wear shoes when using a vibration plate?

I use mine in my sock feet, but it is perfectly acceptable to go barefoot or wear shoes.  Do what feels most comfortable to you.  Just be sure to use it!

While a vibration plate isn’t going to fix all of your problems, I love including the use of one in your overall health regimen.  By all means, dial in your diet, exercise, and, of course, your sleep (hey, this is Seeking Slumber, right?).  But there are plenty of ways to skin a cat and tons of different ways to improve your health.

The benefits of a vibration plate are hard to argue with.  Find what works for you, stick to it, and get to work.
